The 2026 Pambula Show
The 114th Pambula Show, held on Saturday 10 January 2026, marked a vibrant return to the showground, delivering a day filled with energy, community spirit and classic country show charm.
From the early hours of the morning, the Pambula Sporting Complex came alive as competitors, volunteers and visitors gathered for a full day of events. Horses and riders took to the rings, the Pavilion filled with an impressive display of local talent, and the unmistakable rhythm of axes striking timber signalled the start of a thrilling woodchop program.
The woodchop arena proved a standout, drawing strong crowds and showcasing world-class competitors from across the country. Spectators were treated to a full day of high-level competition, culminating in the 325mm Underhand Championship — a highlight event that brought both intensity and excitement to the arena.
Across the grounds, the newly introduced Show & Shine added a fresh and popular element to the program, attracting car enthusiasts and curious onlookers alike. From vintage classics to modern machines, the display created a lively hub of activity throughout the day.
The Pavilion once again stood as a proud showcase of the region’s creativity and skill, with entries spanning baking, preserves, craft, photography, art, flowers and produce. Visitors wandered through the displays, admiring the quality and variety of exhibits that reflect the heart of the local community.
Families were well catered for, with a wide range of entertainment and activities keeping all ages engaged. From interactive shows and animal encounters to market stalls and food vendors, the show offered something for everyone. Crowd favourites such as the mechanical bull, Highland cows and live entertainment (including the much-loved comedy racing ducks and dog high jump) added to the atmosphere, creating memorable moments across the day.
Despite warm summer conditions, the event ran smoothly thanks to careful planning and the dedication of organisers and volunteers. The show was widely praised for its relaxed, welcoming feel and strong sense of community.
Behind the scenes, the success of the 2026 Pambula Show was made possible by a small but committed team of volunteers, supported by generous local sponsors and businesses. Their collective effort ensured the show remained accessible, affordable and true to its community roots.
Most importantly, the show once again fulfilled its purpose — bringing people together. From long-time attendees to first-time visitors, the 2026 event reinforced the enduring importance of agricultural shows in connecting communities and celebrating local life.
