Help Us Bring the 2027 Pambula Show Horse Events to Life 🐴
The equestrian events have always been at the heart of the Pambula Show, and we’re incredibly lucky to have Sommer, our Horse Chief Steward, leading the way.
Sommer has done an incredible job keeping our horse events going, even during the years when other parts of the show weren’t able to run. But putting on a full day of equestrian competition is a big job — and now she’s ready to build a team around her.
We’re looking for people who love horses, enjoy being part of the Pambula Show community, or simply have a few hours to lend a hand.
There are lots of different ways you can get involved, and most roles don’t require any previous experience.
A Special Opportunity: Future Horse Chief Steward
Sommer is looking for someone who would like to work alongside her, learn the ropes and eventually take over the Horse Chief Steward role.
And before you think, “I couldn’t possibly do that!” — you don’t need to know everything.
Sommer is happy to provide the training, guidance and support needed to learn the role. Having someone alongside her will help share the workload now while building the skills and knowledge to eventually take the reins.
It’s a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves horses, wants to become more involved in the Pambula Show and would like to help carry the equestrian tradition of the Pambula Show into the future.

Before Show Day
Volunteer Coordinator
Help organise our wonderful horse event volunteer team.
Sponsorship Liaison
Help connect with and look after the businesses supporting our horse events.
Show Day — Morning
Ring Stewards | 4–6 people
Support officials and help competitors know where they need to be.
Scribes | 6 people
Assist judges by recording placings.
Timekeepers | 2 people
Help keep track of times for our fast-paced events.
Admin Assistant
Check waivers, answer general enquiries and help keep things running smoothly.
Show Day — All Day
Announcer
Create a welcoming atmosphere and keep competitors, spectators and supporters informed throughout the day.
Parking Assistant
Help horse competitors with parking and getting settled.
Arena Crew | 3–4 people
Help prepare, adjust and maintain the competition arenas.
General Runners | 2 people
Our flexible helpers who can jump in wherever they’re needed throughout the day.
Show Day — Afternoon
Pack-Up Crew | 10–15 people
Help us pack everything away once the action is finished.
We’ll Look After Our Volunteers Too! 💛
We know volunteering is a commitment, and we want our helpers to feel supported and appreciated throughout the day.
Our volunteers will have access to:

🥪 Lunch for full-day volunteers
💧 Cold drinks and water
🧴 Sunscreen
🙋 Support from the committee throughout the day
And importantly, most of these roles don’t require any prior experience.
We’ll show you what to do, you’ll have people around you to ask questions, and you’ll be part of a team.
You Don’t Have to Commit to Anything Yet
Perhaps you’ve always wanted to help with the horse events but weren’t sure what you could do.
This is your opportunity to put your hand up.
You could give us a couple of hours, help for a full day, assist with the planning beforehand, or take on a bigger role and learn something new.
Every extra set of hands means a little less work for the people already carrying the load — and helps us keep the horse events and traditions of the Pambula Show going for years to come.
